What is a CAFM system and how has AI changed it?

CAFM stands for Computer-Aided Facility Management: a system that brings into one record what used to be scattered across files and messages — assets, work orders, preventive maintenance, contractors, and sites.

What AI changed is the role of the system itself. It moved from a passive record waiting for someone to enter data, to an agent that receives a request, routes it, and follows it up without needing an instruction at every step.

What does a CAFM system actually cover?
